kaLIGHTescope
kaLIGHTescope examines how colored LED light mediates perception, emotion, and self-construction. Drawing from the optical logic of a kaleidoscope, the work stages an environment in which reflection, refraction, and movement continuously reorganize what is seen. Familiar forms become unstable, shifting with each change in light and position.
Rather than producing a fixed image, the system generates temporary visual configurations that resist permanence. These fleeting compositions foreground the role of motion in shaping clarity, suggesting that understanding is not static but emerges through ongoing transformation. By situating the viewer within this shifting field, KaLIGHTescope frames perception as an active process, one shaped as much by internal narratives as by external stimuli.
